According to breaking news, a former national level wrestler from Haryana and son of a senior police officer has been shot at by Haryana police earlier on November 28.

Wrestler Gurpa Singh, two time national champion in the junior category, has claimed that he was shot at by armed policemen who mistook him for a criminal.

Talking to media, Gurpal Singh said, “It is shocking to know that the police open fired. Without any warning we were shot at and most of the shots were aimed at my neck and head region.”

He further said that he was traveling with his friend when three armed men in a Verna car attacked him. Gurpal and his friends tried to drive away from the spot by the men continued to shoot at him and one bullet catching Gurpal in the back.

Meanwhile, Gurpal Singh is undergoing a treatment at a Haryana hospital.

On the other hand, police said, the matter is being investigated.

Talking to media, Sonipat SP Rakam Singh said, “The matter is being investigated. We will not let the culprit get away with this act.”
