As per Police reports, the employee, Hazrat Omar blamed  Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s party for assaulting him for defying party diktat.

Omar who was absent from office yesterday due to the Bharat Bandh during two day strike called by trade union, was accosted by the assailant today when he arrived for work.

Angered TMC activist with shouts of TMC slogans whipped out a knife and slashed the employee’s ear almost cutting it off.

Omar then rushed to the Baharampur General Hospital, and now is out of danger.

As the incident went on air, BJP and Congress are being active, criticized for such shocking incident, calling “barbaric” and a “Taliban-type” act to make TMC’s goondaraj.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool has denied the entire allegation and called the man a fake one who roughed up by the political rivals.

Talking to media outside Parliament, Manmohan Singh said, “We are meeting against the background of a global economic slowdown. It is up to all of us to take credible action to ensure that we are least affected (by the slowdown).”

Further, the Prime Minister expressed his hope of having productive budget period.

He said, “The way we conduct financial business in Parliament will be a credible indicator of how prepared we are to tackle the economic crisis.”

Stressing the people want a constructive session of the House, the Prime Minister said he was looking forward to the cooperation of all sections of the House.

Mr. Singh said, “We wish to engage productively and constructively with all sections of the House. We need to tackle considerable challenges that the nation faces today.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s comments came during the time that the Budget Session will be rainy with the Opposition vowing to strongly raise issues such as corruption as well as inflation.

Though, the central government has already showed their readiness to discuss all issues and order any kind of probe into the chopper scam.

Shinde regretted over his “Hindu terror” remarks, following the demand of Opposition Leader Sushma Swaraj to withdraw comments and tender an apology, unless an agitation boycotts him in Parliament.

“The budget session begins from 21 February and on 22 February Parliament will sit for normal transaction of business. Budget will be tabled later. So you first solve this problem,” Swaraj told reporters.

Despite Shinde’s regret, the main Opposition is expected to be stormy over issues like corruption and inflation, mainly VVIP Chopper Deal Scandal.

Meanwhile, Parliament Budget Session with three-month long period will begin today, addressing by President Pranab Mukherjee in which the agenda of 16 major Bills hopes to be introduced which inclues three ordinances and passage of 35 bills, sources said.

The Railway Budget will be presented on February 26, the Economic Survey the next day and the General Budget on February 28.

To ensure smooth functioning of Parliament Session which is most important for UPA, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already announced that it is ready to discuss all issues and order any kind of probe into the Italian AgustaWestland chopper scam.

Mr. Singh said that the “serious concerns” has been raised over the alleged kickbacks in the Rs. 3600 crore VVIP Chopper deal to his British counterpart David Cameron.

UK is the only one has provided an interim reply as AgustaWestland is a UK subsidiary of Finmeccanica and India sought more assistance from Cameron.

Mr. Cameron has initially wash out his hands, saying VVIP chopper deal is a matter between India and Italy and he had no doubts over the dealings of AgustaWestland in Britain.

AgustaWestlland is the subsidiary of Finmeccanica whose CEO Giuseppe Orsi was arrested along with AgustaWestland CEO Bruno Spagnolini by Italian investigators alleged 51 million Euros kickbacks of Deal to make the contract in favour of AgustaWestland.

“We have nothing to hide. We are prepared to face Parliament,” Antony told reporters, adding, “I am sad over the allegations of kickbacks despite taking all precautions at all stages.”

Refusing to have any difference in the government or with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to deal the issue, Antony said that there was no political decision in India in defence procurement.

He opposed the VVIP Deal Cancellation with Italian company Finmeccanica over bribes charges, suggesting some wrongdoing had happened in the VVIP chopper supply.

“Something happened somewhere” in the AgustaWestland deal for supply of 12 helicopters, Antoby told reporters, added the govt is waiting the CBI report which would expose the truth about the deal.

Six companies have blacklisted by the government and if any graft is found, the deal will scrap and action will be taken.

CBI probe has ordered into the deal after Finmeccanica’s chief executive Giuseppe Orsi was arrested in Milan along with AgustaWestland CEO Bruno Spagnolini by Italian investigators alleged 51 million Euros kickbacks of VVIP Chopper Deal scam to make the win contract to its subsidiary AgustaWestland.

From PM’s statement it has been cleared that UPA is not under any pressure to debate about alleged corruption in the $750 mn (Rs.3,600 crore) deal for supply of 12 helicopters to India, even as CBI and MoD left for Italy to collect evidences over the scandal.

The Opposition party BJP is also ready to hit back the government, raising the chopper scam in Parliament forcefully in the budget session beginning Feb 21.

Meanwhile, a long and bitter war begins in Indian political parties as Opposition demanded clear cut answers over the questions raised in the alleged kickbacks in VVIP Chopper deal.

The trial proceedings has begun against Finmeccanica CEO Guiseppe Orsi in Milan, Italy where Indian authorities with External Affairs  headed to get detailed information over scam, but Italian court refusing to share it with India.

Sources said, if India has failed to get details of Italy judiciary, the probe conducted by Italy investigation agency could be scrutinised minutely, in which role of Finmeccanica has been mentioned in alleged kickbacks of AgustaWestland Chopper Deal, was signed with AgustaWestland, a subsidiary of Finmeccanica, in February 2010.

Moreover, the probe was going on at “many levels” with best method of ‘Letters Rogatory’, a formal request to a foreign court for judicial assistance which helps to get “concrete materials” from Italian authorities, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid told reporters.

Over the Left and BJP allegations in VVIP Chopper Scam that UPA had kept Parliament in the dark, Congress said that its door were always open for BJP to ask any question in Parliament over the Defence Deal.
