“The engine controller noted high chamber pressure in engine five; software did what it was supposed to do – aborted engine five, and then we went through the remaining engine shut-down,” SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell told reporters.

Further added, “We need to lift off with all nine, which is why we aborted. You can lose up to two engines and still make your mission, just not at lift-off.”

However unmanned mission have launched by U.S. government, but U.S. NASA dismissed to use its owned vehicles last year in wake to save money and spent that on exploration missions far beyond Earth, to asteroids and Mars.

For succession of the launch, billion-dollar contracts has been given by NASA to Space X that joined with another private firm, Orbital Sciences Corp, to keep the space station stocked with supplies, source said.

When one reporter asked that whether mission was failed, Shotwell said, “This is not a failure” by adding, “We aborted with purpose. It would be a failure if we were to have lifted off with an engine trending in this direction.”

“Because some of the sun is always exposed during the eclipse, ambient daylight won’t seem much different than usual,” NASA Science’s Tony Phillips said.

“Instead, the event will reveal itself in the shadows. Look on the ground beneath leafy trees for crescent-shaped sunbeams and rings of light”, he added.

Russia’s first manned spaceship Soyuz carrying two Russians and one American blasted off for the International Space Station (ISS) today.

NASA astronaut Joseph Acaba, Russians Gennady Padalka and Gennady Padalka, started their space journey by launching the Soyuz TMA-04M rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, according to source.

The rocket blasted off with a one-and-a-half month’s delay from March 30 over a problem with the hull of the Russian-built capsule for launch, which damaged after an accident during pressure tests.

As per reports, the “500MW gas-fired power plant” project in Tamil Nadu approved by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday.

During Assembly speech, she granted application of setting up project the Tamil Nadu in which fuel will be supplied from Gas Authority of India’s Kochi-Bangalore pipeline.

The move comes after a MOU to set up pipeline infrastructure in the state, establish a joint venture company for generating the power, signed by GAIL and TIDCO in which mentioned that the 310km long Kochi-Bangalore pipeline will move across seven districts – Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.

Reintroducing the joint venture agreement of Indian Oil Corporation exchanging documents with TIDCO, the Chief Minister said, “When the terminal is put to operation in 2016, it will be able to distribute about 18 million cubic metres of natural gas every day.”

This agreement has signed in March this year to jointly implement a five million tonnes/ year capacity Rs 4500 crore LNG import terminal at Ennore Port.

“Tamil Nadu will also get a floating storage regasification unit in a southern coastal district which will cost Rs 2,500 crore,” Jayalalithaa said.

She further added in a statement, the state has granted package of 20,000 acres of land to be acquired for industrial investments across the state for setting up a hub for heavy engineering industries.

Talking to media, the multi-national pharma company said, “The Abbott Nutrition R&D Centre in India will focus on the development of science-based, affordable nutrition products for the country and enable the expansion of Abbott’s nutrition product portfolio there.”

The Indian Space technology has achieved another landmark with the successful launch of RISAT-1 satellite.

On the successful launch of the satellite, the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the successful launch of India’s first high tech spy satellite RISAT-1 from Sriharikota

Moreover, Manmohan Singh called Secretary Department of Space and ISRO Chief Mr. K Radhakrishnan to congratulate him and the other scientists to give them best wishes on the success of satellite launch.

Talking on the success of RISAT-1 launch, Prime Minister said, “I would like to warmly congratulate all scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch today of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C19 carrying the Radar Imaging Satellite -1(RISAT -1), the heaviest satellite launched till date using PSLV.”

Further, he said, “The twentieth consecutive successful launch of the PSLV is an important milestone in our space programme and is testimony to ISRO’s mastery of the complex launch vehicle technology.”

The Prime Minister also showed his assurance that RISAT-1′s all weather, day-night imaging capability will extensively add to the country’s remote sensing capabilities.

Dr. Manmohan Singh said, “The country is proud of ISRO’s achievements and I wish the organisation all success in its future endeavours.”

In addition, the ISRO Chief K Radhakrishnan also showed his happiness over the grand success of satellite launch.
