Italian car-manufacturer Fiat and Japanese car-developer Suzuki Motor Corporation has recently announced that the two companies have inked an agreement to supply Fiat diesel engines to India’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki.

In a joint statement released by the two companies, “Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL) will supply up to one lakh 1.3 litre MultiJet 75hp SDE engines per year to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) starting from January 2012 for a period of three years.”

The joint note issued saying that the engine will be installed on Suzuki labeled cars manufactured in India by MSIL for the local market.

Meanwhile, the Fiat engines made under licence by FIAL – the JV between Fiat and Tata Motors – will be now manufactured at FIAL’s Ranjangaon plant near Pune in Maharashtra.

While talking to media, a joint official from the two giant firms said, “The production for MSIL will start in the fourth week of January.”

Further, talking to media, the official said, “These volumes will be in addition to the 1.3L MultiJet SDE engines already licensed by Fiat and manufactured by Suzuki Powertrain India Ltd.”

Along with Co-founder post he is also leaving and getting rid of from the boards of China’s Alibaba Group and Yahoo Japan and quits from the official title “Chief Yahoo,” that he and his co-founder David Filo carry in April and May 2011 with 3.69% stake in shares of the company.

Estimations are made that the step that Yang has taken is put out from his attempt to handling back $44 billion takeover bid from Microsoft Corp in 2008 that was broke out before completion.

As per source report, Yang wrote in his letter, “My time at Yahoo, from its founding to the present, has encompassed some of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my life. However the time has come for me to pursue other interests outside of Yahoo.”

But BGC Financial analyst Colin Gillis called his resigning decision as a the fingerprints of frustration and he said, “It’s one of those situations where it looks like (Yang) is losing the battle to control the company’s direction and now he is saying, ‘That’s it, I’m out.’”

As per the latest reports, the giant Hyundai Motor India Ltd, one of the country’s biggest passenger car exporter and 2nd biggest car manufacturer, has recently announced that the launch of 3 new variants of the Eon – D-Lite +, Era + and Magna +.

Further, the cost is less than Rs 3 lakh at 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) D-Lite + comes powered with air-conditioning and power steering.

The car is now modified to provide higher value as the three new variants comes with LPG options.

While talking to media, H W Park, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Said, “The D-Lite plus offers a host of features all for less than Rs 3 lakh. Similarly, Era+ and Magna + also offer enhanced features. The idea behind the new variants is to offer extra value to our customers.”

In addition, D-Lite+ is powered with air conditioning as well as power steering, gift shift indicator and body coloured bumpers, the cost price of the car is now at Rs 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Further, Era + will be designed with front power windows and central locking, and the car is priced at Rs 3.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi ).

On the other hand, the Magna+ offer a 2-Din audio system with USB, Aux and some additional features, the car now costs Rs 3.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Intel announced its first Lenovo tablet based on its upcoming Atom Chips named “Medfield” today and said Window 8 based tablets is due to the second half of this year.

Addressing the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Intel’s CEO Paul Otellini declared that after years of struggle by chip maker, Intel is coming in market with Atom processor smartphone.

Otellini said, “The best of Intel computing is now coming to smartphones.” He added that a Windows 8 tablet based on a next-generation Atom was on the way.

As per the report, Intel’s freshly-minted Medfield Atom processor that is powering the Lenovo K800 smart phone, is also powered the Lenovo IdeaTab K2110 tablet.

However the schedule to release this Android Ice Cream Sandwich-based tablet Lenovo IdeaTab K2110 is going in the second quarter.

On Tuesday, Lenovo and Motorola has also released smartphones based on Intel’s upcoming Atom chips code-named Medfield.
