BMW, the largest luxury car maker in the world said that the move includes expanding its lineup and focusing more on vehicles on BMW Motorrad that support on urban mobility and e-mobility.

Meanwhile, BMW’s motorcycle brand, Husqvarna is now under the form of KTM, which is also part owned by India’s two wheeler company Bajaj Auto. The deal is subject to anti-trust approval.

More hopes are of Husqvarna’s landing on India’s soils very soon as the brand not fit in BMW’s long-term plan.

BMW purchased Husqvarna in 2007 for a sum of €93 million (INR 672 crores or $126.24 million) and has since invested R&D units to integrate the smaller company.

Husqvarna has record for sale of 10,751 motorcycles globally includes a wide range of off road motorcycles, motocross, enduro and supermoto machines using their own two-stroke or four-stroke engines, ranging in capacity from 125 cc to 576 cc.

Reports are on air that BMW in upcoming time period will come up with electric scoters as part of a strategy to expand its range of two- and four-wheel vehicles including one in 2014 that it currently calls the “C evolution” from BMW Motorrad.

Bajaj Discover 100 T will have competition with the Dream Yuga from Honda and Passion Pro from Hero MotorCorpr.

The new Bajaj Discover is the enhanced power featured model equipped with four-valve DTS-i technology 100 cc engine, delivering 10.2 Ps of power and a fuel efficiency of 87 km per litre.

“If we get our strategy right, we can do 40,000-45,000 units a month for the Discover 100T,” Bajaj Auto MD Rajeev Bajaj told reporters.

Lining up its same low cost models platform, Bajaj said to roll out new bike within this calendar year, aiming adverse market environment with rapid sales.

Two new 110cc motorcycles- Centuro and Pantero- are being introduced in the dealership across country in the upcoming weeks.

Talking to media while launching two motorcycles in Mumbai, President of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. two wheeler sectors, Anoop Mathur said, “Pantero should be out in the next couple of weeks and Centuro a few weeks thereafter.”

However, still no details have been disclosed about the pricing of these two latest bikes’ launch of the company.

Reports suggested, Investing Rs 100 crore in the Mahindra R&D centre for 110cc bikes, the company has delivered products of a complete designed with class-defining features and powered by the MCi-5 engine manufactured at the company’s Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh.

Two motorcycle models possess intelligent and class-defining features targeted at distinct consumer segments, Mr. Mathur further added.

Sharing views with media, MS Dhoni said, “We will have to chalk out a plan because there are three categories, Sport, Supersport and Superbike. We will see how it goes. Definitely it’s an option for us.”

The bike team has renamed as ‘Mahi Racing Team India’. Earlier, the team was known as MSD R-N Racing Team India.

When asked about the name change, MS Dhoni said, “We thought MSD R-N was quite a big name. There were some other reasons also. So we thought let’s keep it sweet and simple at Mahi Racing Team India.”

The cricketer then said that they are planning to launch a two riding schools based out of Greater Noida and Sriperumbudur.

Dhoni said, “I would lie if I said I dreamt about opening a riding school. Opening a riding school definitely wasn’t on the agenda. But now we are in a position to do it.”

The bike team of MS Dhoni has performed a strong show, entering into the final race at Magny Cours, France, with its rider Dan Linfoot pulling off a podium finish.

Dhoni added, “There is nothing like a Midas touch. It is all about the team. You need to have a good team. You need people to perform on the field. The same applies to the racing. You need to have good riders, good team, good technical support. Racing is something where technical assistance is very important apart from the driver’s skill.”

Long distance riding super bike, Thunderbird 500 is added in flagship of Thunderbird 350 and while launching nest Bullet motorcycle, MD & CEO Sidhartha Lal confirmed that in upcoming year, the company hike up its two-wheeler capacities by 50% to 1,50,000 bikes a year.

The company claims that Thunderbird 500 delivering a total of 500km with the larger furl tank, split-design seat, projector headlamps and LED tail lights, is ready to hit a tough competition with Honda and Yamaha, in Indian bike market segment.

“Eicher is currently selling 1000 units of Thunderbird 350 in a month. The waiting period for other bikes will lower as we grow production by 2013,” he added, the company’s will be opening the new plant at Oragadam, near Chennai to raise production line by assembling.

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 is racing in the Indian Two Wheelers Market at piece of about Rs. 1,82,571 (ex showroom of Mumbai), one of the highest costing model of company but cheaper than other rival. While another Thunderbird 350cc version is also available with all the new features at Rs 1,43,346.

While talking about the newest TVS Phoenix features, the model will support a 124.8cc air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine the Flame SR125, delivering maximum power 10.5PS with 10Nm torque, experiencing a powerful riding race of fuel efficient bike.

It has been said that TVS upcoming model will come in Indian market in Diwali season as a Diwali bonanza offer that expect to hit big sale record. The model may be priced of Rs. 55,000, but still no price confirmation has made by company.

It is the new version of the Ninja 650R introduced in June last year. Ninja was first launched in 2009 and the company has so far sold 3,000 bikes in the country.

The company has around 65 percent of the market share in the sports bike segment in the Rs 2-5 lakh two-wheeler segment.

While talking to media, Bajaj Auto Pro-biking Vice President Amit Nandi said, “We will start bookings from next week and in the next three to four weeks the delivery will begin.”

The company has earlier launched Kawasaki Ninja 250R and the KTM 200 Duke in India, and ninja 650 is the 3rd in sports bike list. The company has a marketing as well as production relations with Japan-based Company Kawasaki.

Mr. Nandi however did not give any information about the sale target of the new bike to media, but said it would be ‘significant’.
