On Saturday, CBI filled a fresh case against Bharti Airtel (then Bharti Cellular) and Vodafone Essar (then Hutchison Max and Sterling Cellular) – along with the former telecom secretary Shyamal Ghosh, former DDG J R Gupta in 2GSpectrum Scam. CBI accordingly, the decision of the addition spectrum granted cause the loss of 508 crores.

Although CBI carried out searches at the premises of the accused persons and companies the Gupta and Ghosh in Delhi, the Bharti Airtel office in Gurgaon and Vodafone offices in Delhi and Mumbai.

Regarding 2G Scam, CBI also accused the companies to charging lower than the mandatory fee while allocating distinct spectrum.

The BJP leaders offend the CBI and said his move is just like politically. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar, said, “These are diversionary tactics to save Union home minister P Chidambaram who should be investigated for the 2G scam. The NDA decision was based on well-defined criteria, and no favours were done,”

Lightning the fact; the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said tonight CBI was doing its duty. He said that CBI did his work assigned as per the law, in the 2G spectrum scam. And also in December,Supreme court ordered the CBI to investigate the irregularities in licensing.

When media draw his attention to a case against Shyamal Ghosh, the Secretary in the Telecom Ministry headed by late Pramod Mahajan, during the NDA regime. Then Mukhrjee comment,” BJP is making all sorts of allegations. And CBI is doing their duty entrusted to them as per law,”
