Confirming her visit in India last week, Oprah tweeted “Never been to India, it’s been on my vision board forever (sic).”

However her travel to India will be for shoot her new chat show, Next Chapter with spiritual guru Deepak Chopra and she will also be a part of the Jaipur Literary Festival to be held from January 20 to 22.

Ghulam Nabi Azad 300x229 Change in policy for Healthcare and Medical Institutions: AzadAs per statement revealed by Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Centre is now considering to facilitate overseas citizens of India with foreign medical qualifications to both practice and teach in the country due to shortage of skilled manpower in the Indian healthcare system.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has been organized at the Birla Auditorium, Jaipur where all the overseas Indians and people of Indian origin are addressing and Azad announced that the government has undertaken policy reforms to encourage capacity building in medical institutions.

These policy reforms include rationalization of land use for setting up medical institutions, placing FDI in healthcare under automatic approval route, and increasing the faculty student ratio in PG Medical Colleges from 1:2 to 1:1. Read more

Anuj Bidve’s family demands emergency visa to bring back body

An application for emergency visa has been filled by the slain student Anuj Bidve’s family, who was, of 23 years old, shot dead in Manchester on Monday on Boxing Day, to bring his body back. He was a student of Microelectronics at Lancaster University.

His father and brother-in-law have been told by the Consulate General of India in Birmingham, to apply for emergency visa to expedite the process of repatriation of his body to India.

While talking to reporters, Rakesh Sonawane, Anuj’s brother-in-law said, “We have sought emergency visa and have been told that we are also required to be present in the United Kingdom to complete the procedures for handing over Anuj’s body.” Read more
