First set of FIR over coalgate scam against 5 accused companies along with their owners including Vimmi Iron and Steel and NavBharat Steel, has registered by CBI with charge of cheating and criminal conspiracy.

In list of CBI, cases are also registered against Coal Ministry accused officials and state governments. And CBI is likely to raid at office of private companies and it would be in 30 major cities, terming a biggest scam.

Around 10 companies are likely set in first attempt of FIR alleging gain from Coalgate with irregularities, Vimmi Iron and Steel and NavBharat Steel, both companies are based on Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

On Monday, investigating agency went to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, questioned companies seniors officials regarding allocation of coal blocks row after getting directions from CVC reports on Coal lock allocations.

The CBI would not forward into policy issues, only examining the facts of criminality, as per source.

Meanwhile, scrutiny by IMG, which held a meeting yesterday to review the status of 82 allotted coal block along with an immediate access of a de-allocation process, and now CBI probe, the government rejected Opposition demand for an independent inquiry into alleged irregular coal block allocation row.
