The Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is on her Indian tour, and while talking to media, she told that Sachin will be honoured with this award.

Sachin is not in the country at present, he is playing cricket in South Africa for CLT20 series. Sachin will be the second Indian to get this award after former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee. Read more

In an advertisement published in a leading newspaper, the BCCI said, “Under this invitation to tender, the winning bidder will be granted the right to own and operate a new team, which will compete in the IPL in each year from and including 2013 onwards, and will have the opportunity (if applicable and subject to qualification) to compete in each and any CLT20 which is staged from 2013 onwards.” Read more

Reports have said that Virender Sehwag has cleared the fitness test.
