Be strong, don’t look back: Lance Armstrong to Yuvraj Singh

The young cricketer from the Indian cricket team, Yuvraj Singh is on the road of recovery after undergoing three cycles of chemotherapy for a malignant tumour between his lungs.

The cricketer has now received a motivational video message from his “real life hero” Lance Armstrong, who also fought with cancer is well-documented.

The cricketer posted on his Twitter wall saying, “Very special and inspiring message from my real life hero.”

Yuvraj Singh posted this with a link to the message from Armstrong who won the Tour de France for seven successive times, which is a record, he won this after having survived testicular cancer.

In the 19-second video, Lance Armstrong said, “Hi Yuvi, I am Lance Armstrong and welcome home. Man you have got one big following, I have heard about you every hour of every day since you have been diagnosed. We are pulling for you, so glad you are healthy now. Have a great life, don’t look back, live strong buddy.”

He was just 25-years-old when Armstrong was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer, which spread to his lungs, abdomen and brain.

Thereafter, the cyclist had an orchiectomy to get rid of his diseased testicle and was given less than a 40% survival chance by his doctors.
However, the cyclist fought hard with his disease and came out successfully.

The star cricketer from the Indian cricket team, Yuvraj Singh, who is coming back to India on Monday, was discharged on March 18 from a hospital in the United States.

During his cricketing career, Yuvraj Singh has played 274 ODIs scoring 8,051 and 1,775 runs in 37 Tests since making his international debut in 2000.
