According to latest business sector news, Maruti Suzuki has announced that the company will take decision on the reopening of the Manesar Plant by Thursday or Friday.
Sources said that working at the plant would likely to start after August 20. It is said that plant will start production of Swift at the highly automated Plant B, after which the Plant A will start which manufactures the Dzire, A-Star and SX4 sedan.
While talking to media, COO, Administration (HR, IT), S.Y. Siddiqui said, “The investigation on the violence of July 18 was discussed with senior company officials and Police on Monday. The clash had left an official dead and injured 96 others.”
He said, “We will take a call on when to lift the lockout by Thursday or Friday. We will also then take a call on which section of workers we can call back for starting production.”
The city police arrested 137 workers and high level investigations are on. Company is looking for new workers to open working at the plant. Officials said that workers may be shifted from Manesar plant to Gurgaon plant as well.
Further, reports said that company lost production of around 47,000 units and loss of Rs 2,700 crore in one month.
