Samjhauta Express Blast: Police arrest key victim, produced in court

The prime suspect of twin blast in Samjhauta Express who has arrested by NIA will be presented in Delhi Court today.

Kamal Chouhan is the main accused who had planted the bomb on the train along with one more suspect who is still at large.

NIA has arrested him from Indore on Sunday and now taken into the custody.

During investigating, Chouhan has accepted that he planted one of the bombs in the train to Pakistan. He has also accepted to have close aid with Ramji and Sandeep. Theses are the main accused for triggering explosions in the Samjhauta Express in 2007.

For NIA, it is a big success over passing a long period says five years under twin blasts on the Samjhauta Express that killed 68 people.

Twin blasts exploded through two coaches of the Samjhauta Express near Panipat on February 18, 2007, while the bi-weekly train was heading from Delhi to Lahore.

Along with Chouhan, NIA had filled chargesheet against other six people who are allegedly involved in the case. These included Ramji Kalsangra , Sandeep Dange , right-wing extremists Swami Aseemanand, Sadhvi Pragya, Sunil Joshi (now dead) and Lokesh Sharma.

Now NIA has investigated all the substances and link related to accused that were also responsible for explosions at different places in Gujarat, M.P. and other places from 2005 to 2007.

And for this, a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any credible information on accused Ramji and Sandeep has been announced by NIA.
