Vilasrao Deshmukh on life support

Union science and technology minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was shifted to Chennai from Mumbai and admitted in super specialty hospital for liver ailment on Monday evening as his condition was critical.

Ailing former Maharashtra chief minister rushed to Chennai’s Global Health City super-speciality hospital in an air ambulance and doctors said that a liver transplant will take to balancing Deshmukh’s condition.

According to source, ailing minister had suffered from cirrhosis of liver and had been following the treatment at Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. His condition is so worsened that his two kidneys were dysfunctional.

When his condition deteriorated further, he was put on life support systems and it was then decided to shift him to Chennai in an air ambulance, as per sources saying.

His condition had worsened and doctors had to put the minister on life support yesterday, following which a decision was taken to shift him to Chennai in an air ambulance.

Currently, Deshkukh is on ventilator support, but it has been reported that there is no help or assistance such as a request for a liver on his behalf has been provided by government.
