What happened with the Air India Express in Karela?
On August 7th, a tragic accident occurred as an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Kozhikode, India crashed while landing at the Calicut International Airport in Kerala. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft overran the runway and split into two, causing the deaths of 18 passengers and crew members. The plane had a total of 191 passengers and crew on board, and the remaining passengers were rescued with minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation, but preliminary reports indicate that the pilots were attempting to land the aircraft in adverse weather conditions. The Indian government and Air India Express have set up a committee to investigate the incident and provide assistance to the families of those affected.
