The latest released Bollywood films have a disappointment at the box office. All the three films, I, Me Aur Main, The Attacks of 26/11 and Bloody Ishq have failed to grab good rating at the box office.
The films started their business with bad note and soon went to worse.
As per figures collected, The Attacks of 26/11 has collected Rs 4.81 crore in its opening weekend with Friday (March 1, 2013) being Rs 1.36 crore, Saturday (March 2, 2013) being Rs 1.45 crore and Sunday (March 3, 2013) being 2 crore.
However, the box office collection of I, Me Aur Main are Rs 5.23 crore in its opening weekend with Friday (March 1, 2013) being Rs 1.44 crore, Saturday (March 2, 2013)- Rs 1.76 crore and Sunday (March 3, 2013) being Rs 2.01 crore.
New starrer film ‘Kai Po Che!’ have earned Rs 27.46 crore in its first week and its second weekend is at R 8.52 crore with Friday (March 1, 2013) being – Rs 1.74 crore, Saturday (March 2, 2013) is Rs 2.87 crore and Sunday (March 3, 2013) was Rs 3.97 crore.
Talking to media, trade analyst, Amod Mehra said, “Both I, Me Aur Main and The Attacks of 26/11 opened very badly and there was hardly any improvement even on Sunday, which is considered to be a better day. No one is interested in watching The Attacks of 26/11. The film didn’t have any star cast and it lacked emotions for any audience to connect with. Everything seems half-hearted and overall is an insipid film.”
He added, “The only saving grace of the film is its length but the music failed as well. The second weekend of Kai Po Che! failed to impress as the film was promoted as the story of three friends but turned out to be around the Godhra riots, which backfired. Bloody Ishq is a washout.”
Trade expert Atul Mohan added, “The Attacks of 26/11 had a mixed response among the audience. It is a crowded week, plus there are exams as well which has resulted in the downfall of the John Abraham starrer. John’s fans are youngsters and they are busy with their exams.”
