The IPL Molestation Row has taken a new move as hours after Australian cricketer and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player Luke Pomersbach told police that he ‘without any intentions’ touched the US-based Zohal Hamid, the advocate of the RCB cricketer denied of any such confession by him.
While talking to media, Luke Pomersbach’s lawyer Neeraj Chaudhary said, “It was all a rumour. Luke did not make any such confession. His case is pending in court. So, he will only tell court if he needs to say anything.”
The RCB Cricketer was arrested on charges of molesting an Indian-American woman in a five-star hotel in New Delhi. However, yesterday reports said that Luke Pomersbach had confessed to police of having unintentionally touched the woman.
Meanwhile, the Additional Commissioner of Police KC Dwivedi also told media that the RCB Cricketer did not confess to police.
In the meantime, the state police recorded the statement of another cricketer, whose name came into light during investigation.
The RCB player, KP Appanna, gave his statement to police, he however denied claims that he tried to barge into the room of the victim with Pomersbach saying that his presence there was a coincidence.
The Australian cricketer Luke Pomersbach was arrested on Friday after Zohal Hamid alleged that he molested her and beats-up her fiance Sahil Peerzada when he objected to the cricketer’s behaviour. Zohal Hamid’s fiancé was punched in his ear following which he had to undergo a surgery.
Zohal Hamid also told media that some RCB players had pressurized and threatened her to withdraw the case against Luke Pomersbach.
