Krishna is scheduled to meet Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He will also interact with the civil society members.

Hamilton surprised by Monza pole

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton was surprised to take pole position for the Italian Grand Prix because he felt he had driven a poor lap.

Hamilton’s time of 1:24.010 seconds was good enough for pole, 0.123 seconds ahead of teammate Jenson Button and 0.237 seconds faster than Ferrari’s third-placed Felipe Massa.

Rio to host Laureus World Sports Awards

Rio has been named as the host city of the Laureus World Sports Awards for 2013 and 2014, the Laureus Academy announced.

The globally televised event, considered the Oscars of international sports, will give Rio the chance to showcase itself to the sporting world ahead of the 2014 football World Cup and 2016 Olympics, reports Xinhua.
