Pakistan Supreme Court disqualifies Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani

As per breaking news, Pakistan Prime Minister office stands vacant as Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani disqualified for office and shocking fact is that his party also accepted this.

According to source, today Pakistan’s Supreme Court declared Gilani an ineligible top profile person in charge of pushing the country into fresh political turmoil after convicted Gilani of contempt of court not to ask Swiss authorities to reopen corruption cases against Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.

“Since no appeal was filed… therefore Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani stands disqualified as a member of the Majlis-e-Shoora (parliament)… He has also ceased to be the prime minister of Pakistan,” Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry said in the courtroom, source said.

As per him, the Supreme Court ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to issue a notice declaring Gilani ineligible for office as disqualifying him.

In the Pakistan’s historical view, it is for the first time that Prime Minister to be convicted and his party also participated with it.

As soon as top court verdict its decision, the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) accepted it showing ground of the government.

Taking with media persons, the PPP said that new premier will be chosen at meeting of ruling coalition chaired by Zardari, the co-chairman of the party, and his son, party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tonight in which the top coalition partners that have voting right to chose a new prime minister might discuss the next move.
