Posters warns Acid Attack on girls wearing jeans

In a shocking way, posters had been put by an unknown outfit in the Jharkhand capital, Ranchi. People of the city were threatened acid attack on girls and women who wear jeans and the outfit asked them to wear a dupatta.

The posters are handwritten and put up by Jharkhand Mukti Sangh at number of places in the city. It also includes St. Xavier’s College and Albert Ekka roundabout.

The posters write, “From 20/8/2012 (Aug 20), jeans have been banned for girls. Any girl will be found wearing jeans and moving without dupatta will be attacked with acid.”

Meanwhile, posters also warn against displacing people for industrialization, as it writes, “Companies involved in land acquisition will be attacked.”

However, talking to media, an official from state police said, “We have heard about this outfit for the first time. This can be a case of mischief. We are trying to trace the people involved.”
