Review of Renault’s latest ‘Scala’- a Sunnier

Once again following its strategy to be similar with Nissan, Renault’s newest fifth India’s launch, Scala , a five seater sedan is just the re-badged Nissan Sunny, little bit different with some changes in configurations, being launched in Indian Market for sale within next month with expected price of Rs7-9 lakh.

As part of interior and other tools, the Scala comes with much relax and better form than the Sunny. Scala offers normal steering-mounted controls, a lot of room at the back for rear seat, well for relaxing, a package of safe driving as ABS with Electronic brake distribution, airbags and soft leather upholstery top variant increase its interior design feel.

Renault latest premium comes in two variant- Petrol and Diesel. The diesel variant is powered by 1.5 litre K9K engine same that powers the Sunny delivering 86 PS power and 200 NM torque with21.64 kmpl mileage, while petrol has a 1.5 litre engine, producing 99 PS power and 134 NM torque with 16.95 kmpl mileage. However, just as an automatic variant, the company offers an option of a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) on the petrol variant, as reports said.

A little change has made on its tail lights, having same shape, but white strips across the boot lid designed into the stylish chrome finish and new alloy wheel design enhance Scala features. A small car which is good from Sunny launched in this year’s auto expo in January.

Renault’s sedan Scala which is basically just a Sunny, has something more as the company graced its look by adding headlamps reflectors front end, a wider leg room space at rear holds true for Scala too, but a different good look trapezoidal a new front clip a new blacked-out grille and bumpers, comfy seating for three make its look different from Sunny.
