The “30 Rock” actor, Alec Baldwin, wasn’t too happy when he was welcomed by two Daily News photographers Tuesday morning.
This all took place when he and his fiancee Hilaria Thomas, 28, walked out of the New York City Clerk’s marriage license bureau on Worth Street in lower Manhattan.
Star Alec Baldwin, 54-years-old, is blamed of pushing photographer Jefferson Siegel aka Siegel was trying to click images of the couple and of assaulting Marcus Santos, who tried to intervene.
Talking to media, Santos said, “He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me — one time, right in the chin.”
Meanwhile, reports have said that Santos had logged his complaint in police, but no charges had yet been made. No statement was issued by the police yet.
However, Alec Baldwin’s spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, said, “Actor did not throw punches and was simply defending himself and a pedestrian who was between the couple and the photographers.”
Matthew Hiltzik said, “The photographer was clearly frustrated, pushed past the bystander and assaulted Alec with his camera.”
Meanwhile, Alec posted on Twitter saying, “Her Highness Colin Myler . . . Please don’t do to the News what you did to NOTW.”
The actor later makes a joke of the incident with a reference to the fatal shooting of unarmed Florida teen Trayvon Martin. He tweeted, “I suppose if the offending paparazzi was wearing a hoodie and I shot him, it would all blow over.”
On the other hand, the association wrote in a blog post addressed to Baldwin Tuesday, “Rather than make light of a national racial tragedy, I suggest that if you don’t want to be recognized when you go out in public it is you who should be wearing something over your head.”
