The Indian cricket team has reached Sri Lanka to play ICC World Twenty20 Championship. And in the first warm-up match against Sri Lanka, a bad news for Indian cricket fans as opener Gautam Gambhir injured his hand at the P Sara Oval in Colombo.
Gambhir was batting on 5 runs from 4 balls when a high speed balls from Lasith Malinga hit his hand. Now, the reports have said that Gautam Gambhir was hit on hand and referred for check-up immediately.
Meanwhile, none of the Indian cricketer impressed with their performance with the bat, opener Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli all failed and India was 51/4 in the 9th over.
However, some support was provided by Rohit Sharma and captain MS Dhoni, who added 78 runs from 64 balls.
MS Dhoni ended his innings with 55 runs from 42 balls, while Rohit Sharma made 37 runs from 26 balls and India ended at 146/5 in 20 overs.
Further, India will take on Pakistan in the second warm-up match on Friday before starting their ICC World Twenty20 Championship against Afghanistan on September 19.
