Low intensity blast in Pune, 5-year-old boy injured

As per fresh news, a low intensity blast takes place at Laxmi Tara Complex at Dangee Chowk at Pimpri here in Pune on Friday evening.

Reports have said that the blast took place around 4pm and a 5-year-old boy was reported injured. Meanwhile, the bomb disposal team was soon rushed to the spot and investigation is on.

The 5-year-old boy, Piyush Walunje, was soon admitted to a local hospital and is out of danger.

Police officials told media that terror attack or sabotage angle has been ruled out and the situation is under control.

It is later said that the blast occurred due to short circuit creating panic in the city.

Talking to media, Joint Commissioner of Police S K Singhal said, “It was a small explosion. There was a high tension wire going through the area which apparently short-circuited.”

Further he said, “One small child is injured. We are trying to investigate. It is not clear how the blast occurred. It’s of a low intensity. Citizens should not panic.”

He added that the city police in investigating the matter and city is already on high alert.
