In the tough competition with Senator Rick Santorum over Republican presidential nomination, the former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney on Wednesday won preliminary elections in both Michigan and Arizona.

“I was confident that we could come together today and take a giant step toward a brighter future” the wording of Romney in his victory speech on last week, at that time while he was trailing behind Santorum.

Defeating his rival Santorum, getting higher numbers of polls in Michigan and Arizona, Romney has added two more in his list of winning states that includes New Hampshire, Florida, Nevada and Maine.

On 6 March, the preliminary elections will be held in about 10 states and now all eyes are set on this polling phase, is seemed to fix the Romney’s nomination.

Calling his campaign as a “restoring the promise of America”, Romney said, “This is a decisive moment; I believe this is a time that requires real leadership in our country. Times are tough. We need leaders who will live with integrity, who have the courage to tell the truth, and have the experience to get our economy back on track. That’s the kind of leader I aspire to be; that’s the kind of leader I will be if I’m president of the United States.”

Although Romney has not stood victory by a lot of polls difference, but he satisfied with this and thanked his supporters to have a “Great victory in Arizona and Michigan”.

Records of polling is said to be 91% of the votes in Michigan counted, in which Romney had 41%, Santorum 38%, Ron Paul 12% and Newt Gingrich 6.5%. While in Arizona, overall counted votes is of 73%, with Romney had 47.5%, Santorum 26%, Gingrich 16% and Paul 8.5%.
