Akai rolls-out Smart Box, targets Rs 250 crore revenue
Latest technology sector news reveals that Akai India targets to achieve Rs 250 crore sales in the present fiscal year with the sale of its television and its latest smart box product which can change a normal television into smart TV.
The company said in a note that the newly launched smart box would be available in the market for Rs 6,590, and it can allow a person to convert their existing television into a smart television.
Meanwhile, Akai India targets to join hands with mobile operators to develop 3G data connection with its products for faster internet access to its customers.
Akai India also targets to sell around 1 lakh smart TV box in the India.
Talking to media, Akai India managing director Pranay Dhabhai said, “Product life span in today’s digital age is short. The smart box is set to change the way television is seen in India. Customers can upgrade their existing TV to a smart TV which gives Full HD viewing experience without changing their existing TV.”
Further, the new Akai’ smart box is based on Android concept with the help of which one can surf internet, save images, watch movies check mails, download and listen to music.
The company said, “The new smart TV box creates a hotspot if connected to a LAN cable or 3G dongle as it transmits Wi-Fi signal to operate other gadgets.”
