Nelson Mandela 150x150 Nelson Mandela hospitalized in South AfricaAccording to latest world news, the South Africa’s anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela has been admitted to a hospital in Pretoria, South Africa for medical treatment.

Nelson Mandela, 94-years-old, was South Africa’s first black President, and now he was admitted to the hospital to undergo tests, as reported to media by President Jacob Zuma’s office.

Further, the official statement said, “The Nobel peace prize laureate is doing well and there is no cause for alarm.”

Talking to media, Presidential Spokesperson Mac Maharaj said, “As said before, former President Mandela will receive medical attention from time to time which is consistent with his age.”

It is said in news, that in 2011, he was treated for a serious chest infection. In 2012, Mandela underwent a diagnostic procedure for an abdominal problem.

Moreover, Nelson Mandela had spent around 20-long-years in prison under the white minority apartheid regime.

Mandela then becomes the first black President of South Africa in 1944.
