Canada’s suspension of ties ‘hostile’ measure: Iran

Iran has termed Canada’s suspension of diplomatic ties with the country as a “hostile” measure, Xinhua reported.

According to Iran’s state-run Press TV, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chief of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Majlis (parliament), said Canada’s suspension of ties with Iran was a “hostile” decision.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast also said Canada had taken “various hostile measures” against Iran and Iranians living in Canada. Read more »

Plan to enforce building curbs near Gurgaon defence depot

Gurgaon officials Saturday reviewed the process of keeping a check on construction activities in unauthorised colonies that have mushroomed within the restricted zone of 900 metre from a defence ammunition depot here, an official said.

Deputy Commissioner P.C. Meena said that as per the directions of the Supreme Court, delivered nearly an year ago, a status quo was to be maintained within 900 metres from the outer boundary of the ammunition facility near Sector 14. Read more »

IGL raises gas prices by 0.20 paise in UP

State-run gas distributor Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) Saturday hiked compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by 20 paise per kg.

An IGL statement said that the hike was due to an increase in additional VAT by the Uttar Pradesh state government.

Air India is the fifth airline to receive the fuel-efficient and eco-friendly aircraft. Among its other operators are All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines.

“The first aircraft reached Delhi in the evening and was inspected by the airlines’ chairman. Flight schedule and crew training of the aircraft will be decided soon,” a senior Air India official told IANS. Read more »
