Just ahead debut of Parliamentary winter session, Prime Minister and UPA chairman Manmohan Singh on Sunday hosted a lunch for Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati at his official residence.
The meeting with Mayawati which came after a dinner being hosted for SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is expected to link UPA future attempt to hit out full support duo leader.
Dismissing all report of support to UPA over FDI reform, Mayawati cleared as per source and said not to link her meeting with the PM with the winter session of Parliament.
“I have spoken about this in detail in our party rally in Lucknow on October 9. We will take whatever steps necessary keeping in mind what we had said in that rally,” she added.
She called her support to the government from outside, but evasive, not reacted while asking about her stand with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement to bring a no-confidence motion against the government on FDI.
For UPA, it is now much important to get majority for next upcoming Lok Sabha elections for that Congress is set with hook and crook strategy to unitedly face any hurdle over several issues such as FDI, Fuel Price Hike as well as CAG Draft.
BSP with 21 members in the Lok Sabha and SP with 22 are the close two allies for UPA whose support is the life breath in Lok Sabha Polls.
