An assistant sub-inspector, ASI of the Punjab Police shot dead shockingly by unidentified people on Sunday night, reports said.
The incident took place on the Jalandhar-Ludhiana highway, reports added.
ASI Gurdev Sigh was shot when he chased few people in a white Verna car for not stopping when he asked it to at around midnight on Sunday, Police confirmed.
The unidentified assailants shot at the cops and a bullet hit Singh in the chest, and he died on the spot, it added.
However, still no identification has made about unidentified people, it has been said that atleast four to five men were in the car.
