Actor Aamir Khan’s show on Star Plus had so far brought positive changes in the country, but in a shocking incident, Abdul Hakim, who appeared in ‘Satyamev Jayate’ was shot dead in his village in Bulandshahar, UP on November 22.

It is said in reports that the murder was done by the members of Khap Panchayat.

The victim, Abdul Hakim, openly talked against the Khap Panchayat, was shot dead by five men. Abdul was on his way to medical shop to take medicines for his pregnant wife, Mehawish.

However, the actor Aamir Khan, who was the host of the show Satyamev Jayate, is present in Jaipur for the promotion for his upcoming film ‘Talaash’, said, “I was told that Abdul`s village is in the Meerut region and I wanted to go there but can`t go right now due to my pre-scheduled programmes.”

Further, Aamir Khan said, “I have raised the issue at every possible forum and will continue my efforts to bring justice and relief to the aggrieved family.”

On the other hand, officials from the Star network, said, “We strongly condemn the killing of Mr Abdul Hakim, who was interviewed as part of documentation for the show Satyamev Jayate, specifically for the episode ‘Intolerance to Love’. We offer our deepest condolences and sympathies to Mr Hakim`s kin and appeal to the investigating agencies to quickly bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book and serve justice to the family.”

Abdul Hakim’s family said in media that it was honour killing but the police haven’t ruled out a case of family feud. So far, only two people were arrested in this case, while the main suspect is still going missing.
