Swipe Telecom rolls-out ‘India’s first 3D tablet’

The US-based company, Swipe Telecom has recently announced to roll-out of tablets in India, including the ‘India’s first 3D tablet’.

Swipe Tab X745 has been launched in India with the price range of Rs 5,999 to Rs 6,999, and the one with phone facility will cost Rs 8,999.

The company said during the launch that this is the fastest and lightest devices in the category.

Talking to media, Swipe Telecom Founder and Chief executive Shripal Gandhi said, “The dometic tablet market was 0.95 million units or Rs. 2,200 crore in value last year, but is expected to touch 2.2 million units this year.”

United States is the biggest market of tablets with 20.9 millions tablets sold in the country in 2011, and reports have said that double of this will around 42.5 million will be sold this year.

Further, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer Aman Gupta said, “The Company is backed by Mantra Ventures with commitment of $10 million, and is also in discussion with other PEs for an additional $20 million.”
