The Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan reacted philosophically to the development. The megastar was issued a notice by the Supreme Court over tax dues on Tuesday.
The actor said, “Both death and Income Tax Department are inevitable in life.”
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court issued the notice on a petition by the Income Tax department claiming that Amitabh Bachchan has dues of around Rs 1.66 crore as taxes on his income he earned by KBC during 2001-02.
Talking with media, the actor said, “There are two things in life that one will have to face – death and I-T Department. Both are inevitable. In any case I will follow the Court’s order.”
Amitabh Bachchan was sharing his views with media during the first promo of film ‘Jolly LLB’.
The film is directed by Subhash Kapoor of ‘Phas Gaya Re Obama’ fame, is a satire on Indian judiciary system. The film will also features actor Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani playing lawyers
Amitabh said, “I am truly impressed with the promo of the film and I really liked it a lot. I hope the film achieves great success.”
When media asked if he ever had a bitter experience with the judiciary, he said, “no not really. I remember when my name cropped up during Bofors case in London…the only weapon I had was speaking the truth. We were on the side of truth and we won.”
Further, talking about the brutal Delhi gang rape in national capital, Amitabh Bachchan said, “We as individuals need to introspect how we can change ourselves instead of pin-pointing fingers at others.”
