According to latest reports, the superstar of the Millennium, Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the Kolkata Film Festival to be held in November.

The actor accepted the offer after the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee personally requested Amitabh Bachchan to take part in the opening of the Kolkata Film Festival starting from November 10.

Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh posts on twitter, “Amitabh Bachchan responds to Mamata Banerjee, coming to Kolkata, will inaugurate Kolkata International Film Festival on 10th November.”

On the other hand, in 2011, the film festival was inaugurated by actor Shahrukh Khan and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.

King Khan, Shahrukh Khan is the brand ambassador of West Bengal, and will be present during this year’s opening.

Interestingly, Mamata Banerjee and Amitabh Bachchan had both made their debut in Lok Sabha together in 1984.
