In yet tragic news, the young and talented IPS officer was killed in Madhya Pradesh yesterday. It is said in reports that the IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh was mowed down by an alleged member of the mining mafia.
The father of Narendra Kumar Singh has now demanded justice from the government through press and TV media.
While talking to media, the father of IPS officer said that the state government must ensure that we get justice.
Meanwhile, IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh was a 2009-batch and was recently posted at Banmore as Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) around 45 days ago and had started his fight against the mining mafia by seizing number of trucks and tractors engaged in illegal quarrying.
Narendra Kumar Singh, 30-year-old, was crushed under the wheels of a tractor trolley driven by a member of mining mafia in Morena yesterday. The incident took place at around 1pm when Narendra Kumar Singh, who was out on patrolling in his official jeep, saw the trolley loaded with stones.
It is said that Mr. Kumar signalled the driver to stop his tractor but he did not stopped and tried to flee from the place and Narendra Kumar Singh followed the tractor, cut in and stood in front of the vehicle after getting down from his jeep.
Manoj Gurjar, the driver of the tractor, did not pay attention to Mr. Kumar and knocked down the officer who was crushed under the wheels.
Keshav Dev, IPS officer’s father, has told media that his son’s death was a well-planned murder and the family did not receive any cooperation from the local authorities.
Talking to media, he said, “It is clear that this was a well-planned conspiracy. He did not receive cooperation of the local police. He stopped vehicles carrying stones for check. Is it the work of the IPS officer, or the work of a thana-level police?”
In addition, he included that his daughter-in-law now faces threat to her life.
Narendra Kumar Singh’s wife, Madhurani Tewatia, is an IAS officer posted in Gwalior and is currently on maternity leave.
