As per the fresh news from the world of cricket, the so called great wall of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid has recently announced in an interview that he will now retire from the Test cricket after calling a joint press conference along with Board president N. Srinivasan at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium Friday.
According to released reports, Mr. N Srinivasan, President, BCCI, and cricketer Rahul Dravid would address the press personal at 12:30pm today afternoon, 9 March 2012, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
In the meantime, the cricketer Rahul Dravid had already announced his retirement from ODI cricket in England in 2011 after he was recalled in the side due to his better performance in the Test Series against England.
Rahul Dravid scored three hundreds in that series but India lost the Test Series against England very cheaply.
However, the cricketer is known as The Great Wall, has so far played in 164 Test matches since making his first appearance against England at the Lord’s in 1996.
Rahul Dravid has scored 13,288 runs during his test career with a superb average of 52.31 and aggregates second only to Sachin Tendulkar who has 15470 runs in 188 Test matches.
The cricketer is also a world record holder in the number of Test catches. Dravid took 210 catches, mostly in the slip cordon.
In an well-known Test career, Rahul Dravid has made 36 centuries and 63 half centuries and his best score is 270 runs against Pakistan Cricket Team.
