According to latest reports, a journalist was shot at by unknown people in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday evening. Meanwhile, the journalist was identified as Tongam Rina, an Associate Editor with the Arunachal Times.
Further, reports have said that incident took place when Tongam Rina was entering her office in state capital Itanagar.
However, no arrests have been made in the killing of Tongam Rina so far, and she was admitted to the hospital.
Though, talking to media on this, state Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that checkpoints have be made allover the Itanagar and a search operations are on to arrest the victims.
On the other hand, Taba Ajum, President of the Press Club of Arunachal Pradesh, said, “This is the second incident of a journalist being shot at in Arunachal Pradesh. The incident took place at around 5.30 pm. This is a very serious situation. Journalists in the state are scared. We cannot work like this.”
