The Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor also talked about the horrific rape of a young woman in the national capital. The actress on Tuesday said that justices take too long in India and it’s the time to revise the laws.
Kareena was sharing her view in context to the gang rape of a 23-year-old girl in New Delhi that left India shocked.
Talking to media, Kareena said, “When a incident like this happens we give statements as to what all should be done. But one can`t ignore the fact that the justice in our country takes too long. We really need to reassess our laws so that justice happens faster.”
The actress was in the city to attend the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2012.
Meanwhile, the brutal rape and torture took place in New Delhi on Sunday night when 23-years-old girl along with her male friend boarded a private bus at Munirka to go to Dwarka after watching a movie.
It is said in reports that the girl was beaten up, stripped and rape by 7 men in the moving bus. Both the girl and her male friend were later thrown out of the bus near Mahipalpur.
Kareena said, “This has happened in a city like Delhi, but many such things happen in the interiors and does not get reported.”
Kareena Kapoor added, “Saying that a woman should not go out at night is not the solution to the problem. This is something that I don`t stand for. I am a woman and I like to go out at night…”
