Shockingly, the cancellation of Narendra Modi’s keynote address at the Wharton Indian Economic Forum is sought to raise more chances for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal as keynote speaker.
Reports said that Wharton University has now invited Kejriwal to address the Wharton Forum, after rejecting Modi’s name fearing of amid polarising reactions following Modi’s alleged role in 2002 Gujarat riots.
From last week amid reports were said Modi to address forum, but the whole world shocked when Khejriwal confirmed his invitation to speak at the prestigious event.
WIEF scheduled to hold on March 23 in Philadelphia, and as per Kejriwal, he received invitation atleast 10 days ago.
However, Mr. Kejriwal would address the audience via video-conferencing, but still confusion is that whether he will address forum as a keynote speaker.
There is no confirmation or official announcement has made from US University, source said.
Over replacing Modi, Kejriwal told reporters, “As per my information, I am not replacing anyone. The invitation to me was an independent one. ”
Meanwhile, the strong saffron man, Modi has expected to get high support from the BJP’s allies as SHiv Sena and Adani Group chairman have cancelled their scheduled addresses at the prestigious forum, protesting against insulting Modi via cancellation his address.
