Controversial Suspected Hizbul Terrorist, Sayyed Liyaqat Shah, the biggest controversial claims of Delhi Police and Jammu and Kashmir, is expected to hand over National Investigation Agency.
As per latest reports, NIA is seeking the custody of Liyaqat to take a full view on the matter.
Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde had asked the NIA to probe the case after requesting an earlier probe by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Delhi Police has issued a sketch of a man who was reportedly a Liyaqat’s aide, contacted him in plotting terror attack, source said.
The man was that facilitated an AK-56 assault rifle, two magazines with 30 cartridges each and three hand grenades allegedly for Liyaqat in a guest house in Old Delhi to launch a fidayeen (suicide) attack in the capital, source added.
Many contradictions raised after arrest of Liyaqat from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur when he entered India through the India-Nepal border. Jammu and Kashmir claimed that Liyaqat, the resident of Dardpora village in Kashmir’s Kupwara district, was on his way back home from Pakistan to surrender.
Liyaqat’s family also claimed his returning along with other militants as part of a surrender and rehabilitation policy.
