 Punjab gang rape: Six accused arrested, one on run

As per the latest information released by the Punjab Police in connection with the Punjab gang rape case, six accused were arrested and one on run. The information was given to media on Saturday for allegedly gang-raping a 29-year-old married woman in Gurdaspur District.

The 29-years-old woman said in her complaint that she was travelling in a bus to her in-laws’ village, Gukla, on Friday evening when the bus driver and conductor forcibly took her to Gurdaspur, 260 km from Chandigarh.

Further, the women said that the two took her on a motorcycle on Friday night to an unknown place and raped her with five other men joined them.

She said in her complaint that she was gang raped by seven men which also includes the driver and the conductor of the bus and later they dropped at the village on Saturday morning.

In her complaint to the Kahnuwan town police, she gave her statement. She was later sent for medical examination.

Talking to media, police official said, “We have arrested six accused while raids were being conducted to arrest the last one. All have been booked for rape.”
