Ra.One animator Charu Khandal`s first surgery successful

A four hour neck surgery was successfully performed on 26 year old Charu Khandal, Red Chillies animator.

She has been admitted in Kokilaben Ambani hospital surviving for her life, injured with multiple fractures in her leg, paralyzed neck below sustained in an accident.

Four days ago, a drunk Honda City driver hit the auto in which she was traveling. She injured with several fractures on cervical vertebrae 3rd, 4th and 5th that stabilized with rods and screws. Her spinal cord has also injured and from the past three days, she was given steroids intravenously to reduce the swelling in the spine, report to be said.

Thursday’s “Spine surgery” was the second step in her treatment that succeeded. Dr Ram Narain, executive director of Kokilaben Ambani Hospital confirmed, “The focus will now be on weaning her from the ventilator.”

Nothing about her condition has been revealed by doctors and Charu’s relatives and it is expected that still she is in critical condition.

It is said that Manoj Gautam, accused driver whom Police was arrested for rough and negligent driving, was granted bail. Along with him another alias Gautama (39), who drove his Honda City is in jail.

Charu’s sister Ritu and friend Vikrant Goyal who were also traveling with her in auto have admitted in hospital. Ritu got little injuries, but Goyal’s condition is serious who was paralyzed from below the waist. Now after surgery, movements in his legs are well and he is doing better.
