Salman Khan hit-and-run case, Court to hear plea today

Dabangg Actor Salman Khan whose 2002 hit-and-run case to being more sensitive day by day is has moved a Mumbai sessions court for challenging a lower court’s order to charge him for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the case, reports said.

The court is going to hear Salman’s plea today, it added.

Challenging the magistrate’s order, Salman has filed a petition in which he said the court order “bad in law” and “erroneous”.

In a major setback to Salman Khan, after being tried for rash and negligent driving, in January the court accepted Maharashtra govt plea.

The Government requested that Salman Khan should be tried for a serious offence, culpable homicide in the 2002 hit-and-run-case.

If Salman will found guilty in the case, he could face imprisonment punishment for the maximum ten years.

In 2002, Khan’s SUV which was allegedly being driven by him had hit into a bakery in suburban Bandra, killing one and injuring four persons who were sleeping on the pavement.
