The soon to be aired dancing reality show, “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa”, starting from 16 June 2012, on Colors TV every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm, has a different contestant.
And the unique contestant of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is none other than former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya.
However, the cricket is not very good in dancing but he is preparing herd for the reality show. Talking to media, Sanath Jayasuriya said, “It’s tough for me, but I‘ll dance the way I know. Other competitors are professionals, but I will do what I know best. My choreographer is working hard to make me a better dancer.”
Further, when asked to the cricket that what viewers can expect from a cricketer on a show like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, he said, “I cannot offer anything extraordinary, but I can offer something different as a cricketer. I have never danced in real life, barring shaking a leg at a few parties. I have played cricket all my life. I will give my best to this show and at the same time, will keep my country’s concern and culture as a top priority. I have taken up this challenge and will give it my best.”
Gossips said that Jayasuriya is a big fan of south Indian super star Rajnikanth, though he also like all the Khans of Bollywood as well.
When asked him about the judges of the show, especially actress Madhuri Dixit, he said, “I hear that Madhuri is a famous actress. I am happy to be performing in front of her.”
Meanwhile, there are reports that Jayasuriya’s close friend and team India’s terminator Harbhajan Singh was present during the launch of the dancing show.
Apparently, Sanath Jayasuriya checked with Harbhajan Singh after every shot was taken.
