In a shocking revelation, Union Defence Minister A K Antony has confirmed “Somebody has taken money” in the Rs 3,600 core VVIP helicopter deal for purchase of 12 VVIP helicopters from AgustaWestland.
The wait is of CBI’s report which is probing the case deeply and in crucial phase over the purchase of 12 AW-101 helicopters worth Rs 3,600 crore.
Antony reiterated his commitment to Parliament that severe action will be taken against the culprits, told reporters, No mercy will be shown to them, however big and powerful they are, has gone against the integrity pact.
Speaking at Southern Naval Command (SNC) function to welcome INS Sudarshini on its return from a six-month voyage, Antony confirmed the formation of the New Procurement Policy -Defence Procurement Policy (DPP).

On basis of DoM and Italian reports, the CBI has registered a Preliminary Enquiry (PE) against 11 people, including former IAF chief S P Tyagi and his three cousins, European middlemen Carlo Gerosa, Christian Michel and Guido Haschke and four companies. But all have denied allegations.
Two new names, Satish Bagrodia, brother of former Union Minister Santosh Bagrodia, and Pratap Aggarwal, chairman and managing director of IDS Infotech were also included in FIR which were not part of the agency’s preliminary inquiry.
