Parliament Logjam, All-Party meet today

Two days continue disruption of Parliament Winter Session over FDI in retail, the Government has decided to call an all-party meeting today on Monday.

Mayawati evasive 150x150 PM host BSP Chief Mayawati ahead of Parliament Winter Session Just ahead debut of Parliamentary winter session, Prime Minister and UPA chairman Manmohan Singh on Sunday hosted a lunch for Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati at his official residence.

The meeting with Mayawati which came after a dinner being hosted for SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is expected to link UPA future attempt to hit out full support duo leader. Read more

Parliament Winter Session extended for Lokpal Bill

In an interesting move by the central government, the Parliament’s Winter Session has been extended by 3 more days from December 27 to assist the passage of the Lokpal Bill and some other important legislation.

Further, the draft note on the Lokpal Bill has been cleared by Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and will be taken up by the Cabinet tonight.

Talking to media, a senior minister said, “The Winter Session of Parliament has been extended by three days from December 27.”

According to the minister, the Lokpal Bill, Judicial Accountability Bill and Whistleblowers’ Bill will be taken up for syudy and passing during the extended Winter Session. Read more
