Wipro to acquire Singapore firm for $144 million

As per latest news, the country’s No. 3 software service provider company, Wipro Ltd has announced that it will acquire L.D. Waxson Group, a Singapore-based consumer goods firm.

In a statement issued by the company said that it will make all-cash deal for $144 million.

Further, it is expected that the deal would complete in coming two months or so. It valued at 2.1 times the revenue reported by L.D. Waxson during the fiscal year 2011-12.

Meanwhile, the L.D. Waxson is the company which basically deals in sells skincare and healthcare products in countries including China, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

And now the company will be a part of Wipro’s stable of consumer care products.

In November this year, Wipro planned to hive off its non-IT businesses, including consumer care, medical diagnostics and infrastructure units, into a new unlisted firm, called as Wipro Enterprises Ltd, to focus exclusively on information technology.
