Actor-wrestler Dara Singh passes away

According to latest reports, Dara Singh passes away today morning at 7:30 am. His son, Vindu Dara Singh, sent a text message to India TV to confirm the news.

This is a great loss to Bolylwood and entire industry. Earlier, Vindu said, “He is already home. Please don’t follow us. When he breathes his last, I’ll let you know. There is no hope.”

The actor-wrestler of Hindi Film Industry, Dara Singh was shifted from hospital to his Juhu home last night. Talking to media, officials of the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital said that Dara Singh’s family wants him at home at the last stage of his life.

Dara Singh is 84-years-old.

Briefing to media about Dara Singh’s Health, Ram Narain, COO, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital said, “As his condition was deteriorating, respecting the wishes of the family he has been shifted home with ventilator and medicines. A nurse and doctor are at his home.”

Mr. Ram further said, “They wanted him to be at home during his last stages. We have facilitated this.”

Meanwhile, Dara Singh was admitted to hospital last Saturday and was undergoing dialysis there. Yesterday, reports said that MRI shows damage in brain.

Moreover, some Bollywood celebrities visited Dara Singh including Dharmendra, Raza Murad, Farah Khan and others.

If talked about his life, Dara Singh won the title of Rustam-e-Hind for his wrestling prowess and then started his acting career in the 1960s.

He gave some wonderful hit film to industry like Watan Se Door, Daada, Rustom-E-Baghdad, Sher Dil, Sikandar E Azam, Raaka, Mera Naam Joker and Dharam Karam. He last appeared in 2007 released film ‘Jab We Met’ starrer Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.

Dara Singh will always be remembered for his role in great TV show ‘Ramayan’ for his portrayal of Hanuman.
