Congress’s ‘Anti-rape law’ proposes chemical castration

Amid nationwide outcry over the death of Delhi gangraped and brutally assaulted 23 year old victim, Congress is going to propose a hard law for women security.

As per reports, this tougher law includes a provision like chemical castration of perpetrators of rape in rare cases.

On part of provisions, this anti rape law draft includes a 30 year imprisonment sentence for rape convicts. However, still the final draft of Congress’s bill is not yet readied, source said.

Congress has also in demand of implementation of fast track courts for taking immediate decision on rape cases with a 90-day cap, which has also favored by Sonia Gandhi-led National Advisory Council.

Following the death of braveheart after December 16 terrible incident in Delhi, Centre is in process to submit a summary of suggestions in form of written document to the Justice JS Verma-led Committee. And on basis of that necessary changes will have made in wake of immediate and effective check crimes against women and the new law will be implemented.

Among all suggestions, chemical castration to rape accused is the strongest and hardest punishment which had a deterrent effect.

Another suggestion is to re-define the juvenile and lower their age that should be below 15 years, not 18 years.
