Delhi Gangrape: Main accused Ram Singh commits suicide

In the gruesome December 16 gangrape of a 23 years old girl, one of the prime accused Ram Singh committed suicide by hanging himself in the Tihar Jail early on Monday morning, reports said.

Jail Officers said, Ram Singh committed suicide in Jail No. 3 in Tihar Jail, using a piece of cloth that he wore and hanged himself.

His body has been taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in the capital, source added.

Shockingly when all nations in wait for watching justice to happen, Ram Singh commits suicide amid security lapse.

Questions raised that what type of security given by Tihar Jail Authorities, Meanwhile, investigation are called on into the incident and a post-mortem will be conducted on Ram Singh’s body soon, source said.

 

All five accused were lodged at Tihar Jail in isolated cells. They were under a “suicide watch” as had stopped talking and interacting amongst themselves, Officials told reporters.

Ram Singh was the driver of the bus in which the victim, 23-year-old student Amanat (Not her real name) in Delhi was gangraped by six accused and murdered three months ago in a moving bus in Delhi.

Besides Ram Singh, other four and one is juvenile being tried separately by the Juvenile Justice Board are on trial for the case of gangrape and murder the woman that triggered nationwide protests in India.
