Niels Bohr’s father, Christian Bohr was a Professor of Physiology at Copenhagen University. During the World War II, Niels Bohr went Britain due to srrest fears in Germany, later he went to the United States of America to work the Manhattan Project at the Los Alamos laboratory in New Mexico.

Niels Bohr took his last breath in Copenhagen on November 18, 1962. His son, Aage Bohr, was also awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1975.
